Pan Atlantic Research was founded by its current president, Patrick O. Murphy, in 1985 as a strategic business-to-business marketing consulting firm serving national and international clients. In 1989, the company significantly expanded operations when it purchased Strategic Marketing Services (SMS), a leading New England based quantitative and qualitative market research firm which the Guy Gannett Publishing Company had founded in 1982.
The merger resulted in the development of a full-service business-to-consumer and business-to-business research and consulting firm capable of satisfying the needs of our expanding client base.
